Lesson 4 of 5
Reviewing a miss
A mismatch can still give you a useful next step without being reframed as a hit.
Start with the original submission. Compare its specific details with the revealed image and separate supported matches, contradictions and unclear items. “Unclear” is a useful outcome; you do not need to force a verdict for every mark.
Avoid stretching a vague detail to fit the photo or searching only for successes. Record the attempt even when it is disappointing. A low similarity score does not diagnose your attention, mood or ability.
An illustrative example
Suppose you recorded a dark enclosed space and the target shows a bright open landscape. Keep that as a mismatch. A tiny dark corner in the photo does not erase the main contradiction.
Try this in your next session
Write a brief review with one supported detail if there is one, one contradiction and one uncertainty. Choose a process change for next time, such as separating object guesses from shape notes.
Try a blind-photo sessionKeep in mind: You can improve the quality of your records and reviews without turning every attempt into a success.
